The Web Developer plays a critical front end developer role in the WeShopSongs organization. The individual for this position should have a passion for analysis, design, implementation, and testing of operations based work. A web developer should have or be in the process of gaining expert knowledge of WeShopSongs content management systems, Templates, applications, file and backend systems. A web developer should have should have intermediate level front end development skills. Troubleshooting is a valuable skill set. A web developer should be capable of working as an individual contributor on a team and open to learning new technologies. Critical thinking, documentation, communication, context switching, and pride in work are all skills critical to success in this role.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR POSITION
Intermediate knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript and differences between web browsers
Strong ASP/JSP/PHP or similar experience
Experience with Content Management Systems
Proven ability to work with all members of a project team
Experience drafting requirements and functional specifications
Must be organized and capable of tracking multiple issues simultaneously
Structured programming experience or coursework
Ability to follow existing programming and style guidelines to maintain consistent website look and feel and consistent quality of code.
Maintains documentation, procedures and working instructions for the operations team.
Shows initiative in constantly reassessing business needs and makes suggestions that meet those needs proactively.
Develops new site functionality or code-base to decrease maintenance time and increase productivity.
Required:
Major in Computer Science, MIS or similar field with computer programming emphasis

Required:

- 2+ years of web development experience or coursework, including AJAX, CSS, JavaScript and
- Knowledge of the following programming languages: HTML, XML, JavaScript, Java, PHP.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong troubleshooting skills
- Flash integration with exterior data sources and dynamic SWF generation a big plus
- Experience with two and three tier web architecture a plus.
- Strong understanding of browser compatibility issues.
- Strong website development and maintenance.
